Here are some juicy quotes from the review:

‘Creating a cinematic blockbuster in your home may seem like a far-fetched proposition, but that’s all in a day’s work for the Scan 3XS Evolve NLE HD Plus. An impeccably neat interior, every cable neatly zip-tied and routed out of sight. The Scan’s flush of SSDs puts it in a different league to anything we’ve seen before. The 480GB RAID5 array smashed past every machine we’ve ever seen. A superb build make for a PC that’s both powerful and unusually quiet.’

  • Scan 3XS LG156 gaming laptop wins Recommended Award from PC Advisor

    lg156 pcadvisor

PC Advisor just reviewed our 15.6″ mid-range gaming laptop, the 3XS LG156, giving it a score of 4 out 5 and a Recommended Award.

According to PC Advisor ‘It’s good value and provides the sort of gaming performance that would have cost £1200 or more in the recent past. Well-heeled gamers might prefer a more expensive model taking top-of-the range graphics, but the 3XS Graphite is a good choice if you need a solid gaming laptop on a mid-range budget.’

Here are some other juicy quotes from the review:

‘Scan’s 3XS Graphite LG155 was one of our favourite mid-range gaming laptops during 2013, and the company has stuck with the same tried, tested and powerful formula with the LG156. It has taken the best parts of last year’s machine and increased the specifications without increasing the price.’

‘All of this meant that the 3XS Graphite LG156 blitzed through our processor-intensive multimedia benchmarks with gusto’

‘These results show that the 3XS LG156 is more than capable of handling the latest games at High or Medium graphics quality, and that should remain the case for some time to come.’

‘a great price, fantastic processor and graphics performance, it’s one of the best gaming laptops you can buy for under £1,000.’

  • PC Format just reviewed our 3XS Hadron Hydro mini watercooled gaming PC in its latest issue

    hadro hydro pc format

Featuring an overclocked and watercooled Core i7 4770K and overclocked and watercooled GeForce GTX 780 Ti, PC Format loved our new system writing that:

This isn’t just an incredibly tiny machine packed with top-of-the-range components though; Scan has added a chunk of water-cooling magic to the mix, too.

How does the machine cope with the latest games? In a word: brilliantly.

It’s incredible in fact, and even more so when you consider just how dinky this system is.

An incredible machine that manages to pack astounding power into the tiniest of spaces.

You can check out the Hadron Hydro in more detail on the 3XS website.

  • Would you like a 4.5GHz CPU for less than £60?

    pentiumg3258

If so then you should check out the brand new Intel Pentium G3258. Announced a couple of days ago by Intel, our 3XS engineers have been playing with samples of this chip for a few weeks and found that it’s amazingly overclockable.

That’s because like a K edition Core i5 or i7, the G3258 has an unlocked bus multiplier.

This means, that although it runs at a comparatively slow 3.2GHz out of the box, it can be easily overclocked to 4.5GHz.

Despite only officially support 1333MHz DDR3 we’ve also had no problems running at the G3258 with 2133MHz Corsair Vengeance DDR3.

At these sort of overclocked frequencies the Pentium G3258 makes mincemeat of most games, running them at the same frame rate as a £200 more expensive Core i5 or i7.

The graph below shows an overclocked Pentium G3258 versus a Core i5 and i7 running Battlefield 4 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770, the most popular graphics card right now with gamers.

    Battlefield 4 graph

All you need to take advantage of this awesomely overclockable CPU is a Z87 or Z97 motherboard, a decent CPU cooler and a modicum of overclocking knowledge.

You can reserve yourself a Pentium G3258 at Scan now, but you better be quick, we predict this one will be a fast seller!

Alternatively, you can reserve yourself a pre-overclocked Pentium G3258 in a Scan 3XS gaming PC .
